The Twilight Saga: New Moon Prize Pack
Ends Nov 29, 2009
The second installment of the Twilight saga is hitting theaters, and we've got the stylish goodies you'll howl over!
Last time on Big Brother 9, HoH Amandalex put up ParkerJen and Ryallison. Both teams fought valiantly to win the POV, but it went to the spoiler team of Mattalie -- who chose not to use it, despite Matt's several promises to Parker that he would use the POV to save him. Tonight, someone will be evicted -- but will the real show be the possessive behavior exhibited by Alex for his partner Amanda?
Before we get into the eviction ceremony, however, there's yet more drama to be mined from this cast -- and once again, the drama centers on Amanda, as we see clip after clip to support the idea that Amanda is a runaway gossip. Joshuah tells us through the Diary Room that Amanda has a big mouth, and Chelsia DRs that Amanda's gossiping will come back and bite her in the butt eventually.
Now, someone needs to get me some mental brillo, because I really didn't need the image of James lounging about in his pink briefs. But then, the picture I saw of him recently in his gay porn video (yes, there are still two gay men in the house, even with Neil's sudden departure) were far more disturbing, so I'll be thankful for the cotton coverage. Meanwhile, he overhears Natalie repeating a rumor she heard from Amanda, regarding whom James and Chelsia would put up if they became HoH. Chelsia takes the rumor directly to Amanda, and confronts her in the hot tub in front of the group, declaring that she and James are one, and you can't say something about one without it affecting the other. Joshuah gets in on the fight, vociferously, and tells Amanda that everyone in the house hates her, including her partner Alex. He then proceeds to call her a horseface and tells her to get back to the stable. He's ramping it up further, though. He says that he is going after her, and will put her on the block when he gets HoH. Amanda is just standing there, looking bewildered, as Joshuah finally stalks away. Alex tries to explain to Amanda how the whole partner concept works, but he's interrupted when Joshuah returns with one more thing to say: he suggests that Amanda hang herself just like her father did. Oh yes, that was the "bridge too far" for everybody. Amanda is devastated by this comment, and the house -- formerly ready to lynch Amanda -- now rally to her defense.
In the house, Amanda sobs in the tub, still hurt by Joshuah's comments, as Sharon and Parker offer their moral support. Then it's just her and Parker, and she asks him if she's really horse-faced ugly. Parker hugs her, and DRs that he really feels badly for her. But then, he wasn't exactly jumping up to defend her honor in the backyard, was he? Or did I miss that scene?
Breaking Up Is Hard To Do
It looks like there's trouble in paradise for real-life couple Jen and Ryan, who have begun to turn on each other in their fight to stay in the game. It begins when Sheila lets Ryan in on a secret: Jen is talking smack about him. She won't say exactly what it was, but it's enough that Ryan feels he should know and he gets insistent. So Sheila tells him: Jen has been calling him a racist. Ryan immediately goes to confront Jen, who quickly turns it around on Allison, blaming her for Ryan's sudden change in attitude.
Adam watches on uncomfortably as they continue to fight, and Jen is able to deduce that Ryan's mystery informant was Sheila, and that the information was probably something about race. It's not that she's psychic, or even a great detective -- it's because she knows what she said, and to whom she said it. She claims she told Sheila that she had dated a black guy, and that Ryan hated that -- and that she worried Ryan might have had an issue with her being Parker's partner. So now Ryan has to go to Parker to clear the air. And when he's finished doing that, Jen bursts in and starts confronting Sheila, with Parker grabbing her shoulders, saying, "No. Don't you dare." Jen, of course, is coming up with several ways of saying things that might have been construed as Ryan being a racist -- but none of them actually come close to the statement she made -- "He's a racist." -- which we see courtesy of the see-all, remember-all Big Brother flashback. The confrontation builds into a screaming match between Jen and Sheila, and Jen's defense of Ryan not being a racist is that old fallback that he has "plenty of black friends back home."
By now, Ryan is back in the fray, and he accuses Jen of messing with his life trying to get votes. We cut to Ryan's partner, Allison, in the Diary Room, calling Jen a "born liar" who thrives on lying, and who doesn't understand how good she has it being with Ryan. If the ParkerJen team is the one evicted tonight, watch for Allison to begin putting the sly moves on her Big Brother soulmate!
Jen and Ryan finally take their argument off to the bathroom for a private talk. "You're a pretty bad person, Jen," he says. He claims she threw him under the bus, and that this now goes way beyond the game. "Do you really want to win this game that bad?"
Live Interview
It's time for Julie Chen to talk with the gathered houseguests about things that have gone on in the house. By now, the oil-and-water pair, Sheiladam, say they're getting on much more famously now, and Ryan and Jen have kissed and made up (although Jen claims she ultimately went on the block for Ryan -- does this girl take no responsibility for herself at all?)
Most interesting of all, however, is the response to Julie's question about secret couples in the house. All but three of the hamsters are of the opinion that there may be other secret couples. As the song goes, Paranoia strikes deep. Julie then reminds us that the couples vote as a single vote, and that if they cannot agree upon a choice they risk being put up for eviction themselves.
HoH Live Interview
We now go to the HoH room with Amandalex for more questions with Julie. Amanda says that she has forgiven two houseguests, who have apologized, but no word on whether either of them is Joshuah. Alex talks about drawing strength from his deceased father, and going through each day with a smile -- and we've all noticed how happy-go-lucky of a person Alex is.
EVICTED
Parker
Jen
Live Eviction
There's not much unexpected here. ParkerJen and Ryallison both deliver the usual "make nice" speeches. And by a vote of 3 to 1, Jen and Parker are sent packing.
Julie starts the post-eviction interview with Jen -- a good choice, because it looks like Parker is just too devastated to be coherent yet. Julie asks Jen if there wasn't a better way to take the potential target off of Ryan than by spilling the beans so early to Parker. Jen replies that her biggest mistake was Ryan telling Allison. Yeah, Ryan's choice was her mistake. Ryan being his own man and making his own decisions was Jen's mistake. Is it sinking in, yet?
Julie then asks Parker if the couldn't have been a quickly-formed powerful foursome, if only they'd convinced Allison to work with them instead of trying to beat her to spilling the beans to the rest of the house. Parker -- still very despondent, by the way -- just mumbles that it wouldn't have worked. And he's probably right -- Allison isn't just interested in winning the game; she's interested in winning Ryan. Oh well, at least they both leave $5000 richer, cash won during the first Power Couple competition.
HoH Competition: Big Brother Democracy
The couples gather in the back yard to compete, with Amandalex having to sit this one out. The game is one of those where you have to answer a question the way they expect the majority of the house to answer it. Those who then respond in the majority get points.
But there's a twist: The answers to the questions will affect the way the game is played over the next several weeks, as they learn after answering the first question.
The first question asks, "What would the majority rather go without for the next 72 hours: hot food, or hot water?" The hamsters pick hot water, by a vote of 3 to 2. And then Julie tells them that for the next 72 hours, their wish will be granted. Brr! It's still chilly in Los Angeles in February!
With the second question, the hamsters determine what the guys would most like to see their soulmate wearing. It's unanimous for bathing suits, so viewers will get to see a lot of bikini action for a while.
HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD
James
Chelsia
After the third question, they lose their drinking cups (preferring to keep their eating utensils), and then -- irony of ironies -- with the fourt question they choose to have a margarita party over an outdoor grill. Even Julie chuckles that a margarita party -- sans drinking cups -- is going to be an interesting event.
Question five is a choice between the men serving the women breakfast in bed, or the women cooking dinner. By 3 to 2, male dominance is asserted, and the swimsuit-wearing women are consigned to the kitchen.
Finally, the hamsters reveal either their complete lack of forethought, or their insurmountable narcissism. They have a choice of losing -- for the next two weeks -- either the workout equipment or the washing machine. The washing machine suffers a temporary eviction by a vote of 4 to 1. It's gonna stink in the house real soon now.
And speaking of stinking in the house, with the votes all tallied, we have a new HoH Couple: James and Chelsia.
