This contest is over. The winner is Ashley Triplett from Indianapolis, IN.

Hailing from Athens (Ohio, not Georgia), Red Wanting Blue is a venerable indie rock outfit whose seventh album, These Magnificent Miles, gets its title from the endless touring necessary to make a living without major label backing.

Track Listing
01. Gravity
02. You Are My Las Vegas
03. Where you Wanna Go
04. The World Is Over
05. Finger In the Air
06. Red Ryder
07. The Air I Breathe
08. New Cool
09. Probably Nothing
10. U.S. Bumper Sticker
11. Space Time
12. The Band

Formed in 1995, the band has grown a steady following through a succession of albums beginning with their 1996 debut Velveteen, and continuing through The Image Trigger (1998), Model Citizen (2000), Sirens (2001), Souvenirs of City Life (2003), Pride: The Cold Lover (2004), and The Warehouse Sessions (2006). That last album was a live affair that previewed four songs that would ultimately get the studio treatment on These Magnificent Miles.

Red Wanting Blue is comprised of chief lyricist Scott Terry (vocals, ukulele), Eric Hall (guitar, lap steel, piano, vocals), Mark McCullough (bass, Chapman stick, vocals), Ed Davis (drums, percussion), and Greg Rahm (guitar, keys, vocals). With These Magnificent Miles they have settled into an Americana rock ‘n’ roll vibe with "far-out" themes reoccurring in “Gravity,” “Space Time,” and “The World Is Over,” the latter of which has to rank as the most musically upbeat apocalyptic tune ever.
