The CGI adventures of Disney's most famous fairy continue with this second installment of the Pixie Hollow adventures. Tinker Bell (voiced by Mae Whitman), now fully and happily settled into her role as a tinker fairy, is entrusted by Queen Clarion (Anjelica Huston) and Fairy Mary (Jane Horrocks) to create the ceremonial Autumn Staff by which the magical moonstone will be held aloft during the fall revelry. The point of the upcoming ceremony is that the beams of the rare "blue moon" will refract through the fragile moonstone and result in the production of blue fairy dust, needed by all the fairies to bring about the change of the season.

Tink accepts the job and approaches it with much seriousness. At first, she's glad to have the help of her friend Terence (Jesse McCartney), but she quickly finds his ubiquity in her workspace annoying. In fact, he's so distracting that she boots him out, and -- in an accident born of temper -- fractures the moonstone into shards. Her only hope is to follow the clues to a magical mirror that will grant a single wish, so that she can wish the moonstone back together. Along the way she'll make a new friend in Blaze, a lightning bug, and encounter resistance in the form of two not-so-vicious trolls and some very scary rats!

However, wishing a problem away is notoriously the too-easy way out, so don't be surprised if Tinker Bell must learn a few important life lessons along the journey before coming up with the all's-well finish with the help of her friends.

The Blu-Ray + DVD release of "Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure" includes the same bonus features on both discs. The story is surprisingly charming for a sophomore release in a direct-to-home franchise, as is the animation quality. Music is provided by Celtic Woman's Lisa Kelly who performs the opening If You Believe; narrator Grey DeLisle is joined by Julie Garnye in "Fairy Tale Theatre" in which Tinker Bell learns of the existence of the wishing mirror; and Disney regular Demi Lovato performs "The Gift of a Friend," the video of which can be seen in the bonus features of the disc.

Also included among the bonus features is the interactive "Magical Guide to Pixie Hollow" and some specially made "Outtakes and Bloopers" where the fairies flub their lines. Finally, under the Backstage Disney subheading, you can see Epcot Center transformed by fairy magic in the featurette, "Pixie Hollow Comes to Walt Disney World."

Previews on this disc include "Dumbo" Special Edition (as opposed to the "Big Top Edition"), "The Princess and the Frog," "G-Force," "Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue," "Ponyo," "Santa Buddies: The Legend of Santa Paws," and "The Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie."
