This contest is over. The winner is Christine Groce from Columbus, OH.

Young musicians with old souls. That's what Gypsy Dave and the Stumpjumpers emulate on their latest release, A Bucketful of Ghosts. Evoking early-era Bob Dylan folkiness (without the political commentary), the trio of "Gypsy Dave" David Washousky on guitar and vocals, Lisa Joseph on violin, and Ryan Nageotte on upright bass put forth laid-back storytelling as from a simpler time.

The liner notes rework a familar cemetary poem of unknown origin as a way of putting the album's theme into focus:

This is a record.

Lives are commemorated.
Deaths are recorded.
Families are reunited.
Memories are made tangible and love is undisguised.

Communities accord respect.
Families bestow reverence.
Historians seek information and our heritage is thereby enriched.

The introspection takes one melancholy turn after another -- which can be a bit of a downer -- but their rural Pennsylvania experiences offer an honesty not heard nearly enough in the music of today. Enter our contest below for your chance to win A Bucketful of Ghosts.
