The latest full-length movie starring Margret and H.A. Rey's inquisitive primate finds our hero, Curious George, well-acclimated to life in New York, coming and going as he pleases and making friends everywhere he goes. Meanwhile, Ted (aka "the man in the yellow hat") frets and worries about his impending promotion to take over the curatorship of the museum after Mr. Bloomsbury's retirement, and spends his time making charts and graphs to make his case to the board of directors.

George provides a distraction from the work, however, when he insists on seeing a magic show featuring the Great Piccadilly (voiced by Tim Curry), whose act includes a juggling elephant named Kayla. Intrigued by the elephant, George's curiosity makes a shambles of the act and he ends up backstage with the oddly depressed pachyderm. Through accidents that could only happen to George, he unlocks the exit to the street, paving the way for Kayla, George -- and soon, Ted -- to start a cross-country trek to California so that Kayla can see her brother and sister.

Quite naturally, Picadilly thinks his elephant has been stolen, and puts the theater's head of security, 'Danno' Wolfe (Jamie Kennedy) on the case. Wolfe, a student of "crime stuffing" through correspondence courses, provides the "Mr. Fix" to Ted's "Phileas Fogg" on this madcap journey, with Ted completely oblivious to the trouble he's in, helplessly caught up in the hijinks as he's thwarted at every turn to try to turn the trio back around and return to New York.

Adults will get the self-deprecating turn put in by The Today Show mainstay, Matt Lauer, as he voices newsman Hark Hanson, a man with a mic who sensationalizes the case of the "kidnapped" elephant at every turn. Comedy legend Jerry Lewis also gets in on the act, providing the voice for a stationmaster located in a remote part of the country.

The bonus features on this disc include two episodes from the new, upcoming season of the Curious George animated series (so you'll have a six-month peek-ahead!), and a DVD console game, "Curious George's Cross Country Caper," where solving puzzles gets Kayla closer to visiting her siblings and wrong answers arouse the attention of 'Danno' Wolfe! There's also a music video, "Hold On, Here We Go," set to animated clips from the feature, and access (via DVD-ROM) to computer desktop wallpapers and printable coloring pages.

Previews on this release include "Despicable Me," Barbie in "A Mermaid's Tale," "Lego: The Adventures of Clutch Powers," and the Curious George live stage show.
