Jars of Clay departed the major-label system to pursue artistic freedom outside the rigors of corporate Contemporary Christian Music. They subsequently released their elegant Christmas Songs collection on their own Gray Matters label within the greater musical collective of Nettwerk Music Group.

This five-song EP serves as a preview of their new musical direction. It contains two tracks that would appear on The Long Fall Back to Earth, both hinting at experimentation with electronic alt-pop.

An additional unreleased track, "Prisoner of Hope," appears in the documentary "Sons of Lwala" and is a social justice anthem, much in the same vein as "Light Gives Heat" from Good Monsters.

Bringing along longtime fans are reworkings of two songs that appeared on their 1995 debut, Jars of Clay. "Love Song for a Savior 08" features handclaps and a breezy beat, while "Flood (New Rain)" (the original served as the theme song for God or the Girl) is now arranged as a rock song.

· Contest is open to persons of any age currently residing in the United States. We will only mail the prize to a winner residing in the U.S.

· A good faith effort will be made to deliver the prize to the winner at the address provided in a timely fashion. The Trades is not responsible for any lost or misdirected packages.

· Sponsor's employees and their dependants are ineligible.

· Only one (1) entry per address will be permitted. Multiple entries will result in all entries being invalidated.

· Limit one (1) prize per person.

· Incomplete entries will be discarded. Remember to include your full name and mailing address, including apartment number, where applicable. The Post Office will not deliver items with incomplete addresses.

· August 2, 2010 is the final day of the contest.

· The winner will be chosen randomly from all valid entries received. The winner's name will be posted here.

· No purchase necessary.
