The Twilight Saga: New Moon Prize Pack
Ends Nov 29, 2009
The second installment of the Twilight saga is hitting theaters, and we've got the stylish goodies you'll howl over!
This black and white book is a real gem. The art is an interesting combination of highly detailed backgrounds and co-stars with a minimalistically represented main heroine.
Courtney Crumrin is a cynical and opinionated young girl who comes from a long line of ancestors who dealt regularly with the bizarre. In this FREE COMIC BOOK DAY special edition, Courtney is recruited into babysitting the infant son of a wealthy and respectable couple. It's her mother's idea--Courtney would rather have something lanced than babysit.
But during the night, something happens. Something awful and terrible and horrible happens! The baby is taken by goblins and replaced with a changeling--and not a very polite one at that.
Courtney: Something seriously wrong with that kid. Courtney: Probably already have him on Prozac. ...grumble... The changeling appears over the back of the couch, peering at Courtney. Courtney: Umm... Can I help you? Changeling: RRRRaaawwwlll!!! beat Changeling: That usually scares the bejeezus out of little girls. Courtney: I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess you're not actually a baby. Changeling: What tipped you off, toots? Courtney: For one thing, you smell even worse than a human infant. Changeling: Whiskey always gives me the wind...
It's up to Courtney to rescue the stolen child. Or is it? Courtney forces the changeling to lead her into the forest, where the Night Things live. But it's far from a simple search-and-rescue mission when Courtney herself becomes one of the items for sale in the Goblin market!
Ted Naifeh has created a spectacularly entertaining world that blends Alice In Wonderland with The Nightmare Before Christmas. The art is unique from any other comic I've seen on the market, and the writing has a wonderful black humor and melodrama about it that makes this book completely irresistable. One helping of Night Things isn't enough.
