Little Snow Bear had been snuggled up with his mother all winder inside their cozy den. He was longing to go outside.
On the first day of spring, his mother said, "It's time for you to meet the world, my little one."
Thus begins the adventures of Piers Harper's little polar bear. Being warned not to wander too far from the water's edge, Little Snow Bear begins playing with a baby seal, and when he finally comes ashore again, he finds he is quite lost.
His adventures bring him in contact with a reindeer and a little eskimo girl with her dogs, until ultimately he finds his mother again.
Despite the snowy interiors, this book fairly emanates warmth and reassurance. And each page has objects in it that are textured with felt that youngsters will be delighted to touch (they're kind of hard for grown-ups to stop touching as well.) The bears, puppies, reindeer and seals--each of them is a textured surprise just waiting to be uncovered at the turn of a page.
Sturdily bound with large print, children will find this snowy story a pleasure in all seasons.
