The Twilight Saga: New Moon Prize Pack
Ends Nov 29, 2009
The second installment of the Twilight saga is hitting theaters, and we've got the stylish goodies you'll howl over!
Two things are almost certain about young boys: they love dinosaurs, and they don't always excel at table manners. Jane Yolen and Mark Teague cleverly address the latter by using the former in this latest in their series of "Dinosaurs Behaving Badly."
How does a dinosaur eat all his food?
Does he spit out his broccoli partially chewed?
Does he bubble his milk?
Stick beans up his nose?
Does he squeeze juicy oranges with his big toes?
Teague's illustrations are comically absurd while remaining exquisitely detailed. Even parents -- who may sometimes believe they're feeding giant monsters instead of children -- will find enjoyment in Yolen's rhyming rulebook that lays down the law in such a manner as to even tame a Deinonychus at a cookout. It's perhaps not the approach Emily Post would use to teach etiquette -- but sometimes you have to find alternative methods to get the message delivered before it can be understood, and these prehistorically polite (and impolite) beasties make for a fun-filled lesson in manners.
