South Park is back for this seventh season release, with a total of fifteen episodes on three DVDs. There are many great episodes here, with “South Park is Gay!”, where crab men try to turn the town gay with the metrosexual craze, ”All About The Mormons?” when Kyle’s family is all converted by their new Mormon neighbors, and “Fatbutt and Pancake Head” in which Cartman steals J. Lo’s record deal and boyfriend when his hand starts churning out hits that sound just like hers topping my personal favorite list. All three are pretty controversial, but definitely funny in the process. While South Park is still quite crude with its humor at times, the show is starting to show a bit more maturity by moving away from the random potty humor jokes and adding some more intelligent lines. Overall I think it helps give the show a much needed breath of fresh air.

While many feel that the quality of the episodes start to deteriorate with this season, I feel the opposite, the episodes are just as good if not better then the older ones. The box set features the episodes on three discs, and a small commentary on each episode lasting from five to seven minutes on each episodes. Other then that, the set is devoid of extras, which is the reason it got knocked down a step on the grading scale. It is still a great set though and a must for fans of the series. The following is the episode information for each disc as well as the original air date and synopsis straight from the inside covers of the box.
