Last week Hippies BJ and Tyler arrived in last place, but they were not sent home as this was the first in a number of non-elimination legs. However, they will start this leg with no money or possessions.

Old Folks (yes, that’s right, the old folks) Fran and Barry start this leg off with a 5:35 p.m. departure. Teams are traveling from Jabreen, Oman and are flying to Perth, Australia.

Before driving off, Old Folks Fran and Barry leave Hippies BJ and Tyler $20. At 5:54 p.m. Team Mojo Monica and Joseph leave and are gleeful in the fact that the Hippies have no money. I guess the Hippies have said whoever doesn’t leave them some cash will be Yielded at the first opportunity. Naturally, Team Mojo leaves them nothing.

The first two teams have some trouble traveling to the airport because the king’s motorcade has shut down the highways. They are forced to wait it out.

This gives a break to Team Chi-town Ray and Yolanda who depart at 6:26 p.m. and Lazy Frat Boys Eric and Jeremy who leave at 6:47 p.m. Chi-town gives the Hippies 10 bucks while the Frats leave an IOU.

Finally, at 8:21 p.m. Hippies BJ and Tyler depart from the Pit Stop without cash in hand. However, they are still happy-go-lucky and decide to pick up a hitchhiker.

Meanwhile, teams have begun arriving at the airport and quickly buy tickets for the one plane heading to Perth. Back on the road, Hippies BJ and Tyler are out of gas, but their new hitchhiker friend buys them gas, candy and juice. The Hippies arrive at the airport as the plane is boarding, but since they are such nice guys, they are able to buy tickets. Team Mojo is not happy (boo hoo).

DETOUR

Once the plane lands, teams race to the taxi stands. Teams must now taxi to King’s Park and find the State War Memorial.

Hippies BJ and Tyler worked the plane and received more than $300.

Lazy Frat Boys Eric and Jeremy arrive at the park first with Team Mojo Monica and Joseph not far behind. Teams must now travel to the town of Fremantle where they’ll take a ferry to Rottnest Island. Fremantle is an hour and a half away so in order to save money, Team Chi-town Ray and Yolanda and Hippies BJ and Tyler take a bus. The other three teams cab it over to Fremantle, though, and arrive first. Unfortunately for them, the ferry is closed until 7:30 a.m.

The next morning all teams are on the first ferry to the island. Teams must pick up a tandem bike and ride three miles to a lighthouse. Once there, it’s a Detour. This week teams choose between Sand and Sea. In Sand, teams drag 40 large branches 126 yards to a sand dune. In Sea, teams must dive into the sea and search among 50 crawfish traps to find two crawfish to bring back to shore.

Team Mojo Monica and Joseph are still upset at the Hippies. They call them followers just because they arrived to the lighthouse behind them. Uh, it’s pretty clear where the lighthouse is Monica. They didn’t follow you, they arrived after you. She gets payback though because shortly after her comments Team Mojo gets lost. I guess they should have followed someone!

Lazy Frat Boys Eric and Jeremy arrive at the Detour first. They choose Sea. Hippies BJ and Tyler are right behind and choose Sand. Old Folks Fran and Barry arrive next and also choose Sand while the Frats find their crawfish. Team Mojo Monica and Joseph finally find their way to the Detour and choose Sea.

Hippies BJ and Tyler finish dragging branches while Team Mojo Monica and Joseph finds one crawfish. They think they’re done so they head back to shore (whoops!). Team Chi-Town Ray and Yolanda arrive and choose Sand while the Old Folks Fran and Barry finish that task. Team Mojo head back out to sea. They find another crawfish, but Monica is scared of it. She and Joseph argue some more (karma anyone?), but she relents and scoops up the crawfish. Team Chi-Town finish the Detour last.

ROADBLOCK

After the Detour, teams must head back to the mainland and find the Fremantle Prison. It was shut down in the 1990s, but it still exists with a network of underground tunnels that supply fresh water.

Lazy Frat Boys Eric and Jeremy are the only team to make the ferry back to Fremantle. Hippies BJ and Tyler take a gamble and take a ferry to Hillary and cab it over to the prison to try and save a half hour. While waiting for the next ferry to Fremantle, Old Folks Fran and Barry check out the visitor’s center and call a taxi to be waiting for them when they get to the mainland. Team Mojo Monica and Joseph borrow a cell phone while on the ferry to reserve a cab for them.

Meanwhile, Lazy Frat Boys Eric and Jeremy arrive at the prison and find a Roadblock. One member of each team must search the cells for a flashlight and batteries, then find a door that leads them to a series of wet and dry tunnels where they’ll find their next clue.

Back at the ferry, Team Mojo Monica and Joseph tell the others that they’re jumping into the first cab they see regardless of whose it is. Luckily for them it is theirs because Fran and Barry’s taxi doesn’t show. They are forced to settle for a bus to take them to the prison.

Over at the prison it’s taking Jeremy a while to even find the flashlight and he’s still looking for the tunnels when Team Mojo Monica and Joseph arrive. Hippies BJ and Tyler are hitting a lot of red lights which is slowing down their plan. They arrive at the prison not too far behind the Mojo. Jeremy finally finds the tunnels while in the cellblock Tyler is trying to work with Joseph, but to no avail. Both find the flashlight though. Around this time the other two teams arrive.

Down in the tunnels, Jeremy takes a boat in the wet tunnels first, but doesn’t find the clue. He then tries the dry tunnels and immediately finds a clue. After an hour of searching the prison, the Frats finally leave.

PIT STOP

Teams now travel one and a half miles to the Fremantle Sailing Club where they must locate the South Breakwater where Phil is waiting for them at the Pit Stop.

Lazy Frat Boys Eric and Jeremy decide to hoof it to the Pit Stop. Inside the prison, Team Mojo has their clue while Yolanda of Chi-town and Fran of Old Folks find the flashlights.

Team Mojo Monica and Joseph still have their cab and they arrive at the Pit Stop the same time the Frats do. It’s a sprint to the mat, but Frat Boys Eric and Jeremy take first once again. They win a trip to Hong Kong. Team Mojo settles for second.

Working together Tyler and Yolanda find the tunnels. They both do the boats and both find the clues. Fran is right behind, though. She tries the dry tunnels and finds her clue.

Hippies BJ and Tyler make a tremendous comeback this week and take third. Old Folks Fran and Barry keep hitting red lights on the way to the sailing club. Team Chi-Town Ray and Yolanda are at the sailing club, but are unsure where to go. Once they get directions, the Old Folks pull into the parking lot. It’s another sprint to the finish, but Chi-Town pulls in easily into fourth place. Old Folks Fran and Barry go from first to last and are eliminated.
