So much for teamwork. The rules have changed again and now there are no more duos. There are only 7 contestants left on The Biggest Loser but I suspect that somewhere along the line there will be a double elimination. Ratings are not all that high, and although I find the losers are admirable in their quest for thinness, the first thing I do when airing this show is grab a jar of peanut butter.

Everybody is depressed and/or weepy so Bob takes his “boys” out for the weekly pep squad rally. This leaves the ladies (and Jaron) to whine to Kim, who has yet to prove that she is up to Bob’s likability factor. Who could compete with someone who calls himself a “laser beam”?

Adrian is concerned that she looks stupid performing the exercise that Kim recommends, so Kim tells her not to worry, it is just “fat girl syndrome”.

The Product Push of the Week

Amy O’Connor of Prevention Magazine shows up unannounced and tells the losers they are all getting makeovers, including hair, make-up, clothes, and a chance to be in the mag. So off they trot to Melrose Avenue and Warren Tricom. Poor Wylie, he is follically challenged and probably doesn’t do make-up, so they ought to throw in an extra set of duds for him.

Everyone is thrilled that they look as well as they do in their new threads and don’t mind posing in the least. This has to be an enormous ego boost, something that they could certainly use at this point. The before and after photos of Marty, Kai, and Wylie are particularly resplendent.

The Challenge

Kai is horrified when she realizes that the Challenge involves heights. Caroline tell them its all about “patience, endurance, and stamina” this week, which makes it no different than any other week. Each contestant has to ride their stationary bike 30 feet above the ground, but when they find that they are playing for immunity, Kai doesn’t look quite as nauseous and acrophobic as before. Every 2 miles they get to lower another player 10 feet. Three strikes and they are out.

Adrian whines that the game is not fair because it is five old losers against the newbies. She would be my first choice to pick off just because of her attitude. Shut up, Adrian!

Caroline gives a tedious play-by-play, just like I am about to do, so feel free to skip this paragraph. Jaron lowers Heather, Kai lowers Adrian, Wylie lowers Jaron, Erik lowers Jaron, Adrian lowers Wylie, and Heather lowers Jaron for the final time but with an attitude. Marty lowers Adrian, Kai lowers Adrian and she is out. Wylie lowers Heather, Erik lowers Heather, so she is gone. Marty lowers Kai, who has her eyes closed. Wylie lowers Erik, Erik lowers Wylie, Kai lowers Marty, Marty lowers Erik because he feel badly for Kai. Wylie lowers Kai, thus tying the road race from hell. Erik sends Wylie out and Kai wipes out Wylie. It’s now down to Erik and Kai. I am amazed at the tenacity of Kai to keep up with Erik’s strength. She has hauled ass almost 2 miles “farther” than Erik and wins.

Last Chance Training

It’s Kim’s turn to whine because she has to work out with 5 losers and Bob only has two. Bob now calls Marty a laser beam and then makes Erik pull him around.

The Weigh-In

Kai wins immunity for the second time, and goes first on the scales.
201-198 = -3 lbs.

Jarom
238-231 = 7 lbs. (2.94%)

Heather
186-179 = 7 lbs. (3.76%)

Marty
282-274 = 7 lbs. (2.84%)

Adrian
170-163 = 7 lbs. (4.12%)

Wylie
236-236 = 0 lbs. (0.0%)

Erik
318-307 = 11 lbs. (3.46%)

Way to go, Erik. He is one of only 3 people in the history of the Ranch that has lost 100 pounds, leaving Wylie and Marty under the yellow line. Marty thinks of it as losing his eight pounds and tries not to dwell on the negative while Wylie goes jogging and, as Heather puts it, is “poor sportish”.

This is a touchy situation. Marty is more of a threat but is much more fun to be around. Erik decides to send Marty home. Even Caroline is teary.

Ousted Contestant update:

Marty came to the ranch weighing in at 365 pounds and left there weighing 274. He goes back to his students, who he says were his inspiration. He has lost a total of 140 lbs., leaving him at an amazing 225 pounds.

There is no Biggest Loser next week, and there are only 2 episodes left before the finale. Enjoy your Turkey Day on the 23rd and don’t pig out too much on the stuffing and gravy.
