Well, the fourth episode of MSTX is over now and that means we’re half way through the show. This episode varied from the previous episodes in the fact that we eliminated two suspects, instead of the usual one. But it still doesn’t really help us quite yet, as there are 11 suspects left. Maybe I can help narrow that down for us, and yes of course this is a biased column.

First off, Kristen must be the producers’ dream. Last week she was convinced that the Mayor was the killer because he was being suspicious and he knew too much about that taxidermy stuff. This week it’s not the Mayor anymore. Nope, now it’s Lambert (this week’s "most obvious killer"). It’s no wonder she continues to survive the killer’s game, the show’s producers like the fact that she’s so gullible. I’m convinced that next episode she’ll see some cat wondering around a murder scene and think it’s the killer in disguise. You just wait.

I guess, Kristen, this column’s for you. I’ll rate the suspects for you on a 4-star system (4 being the most evident, 1 being the least). Let’s narrow it down shall we?

X-Ray, Leita Rose-Blodgett, Dudley Duncan, and Drew Chambers are all cleared. Kristen, this means that none of them is the killer. Still with me?

Deanna Harris
Lambert’s lawyer and lover. We haven’t seen too much of her, just sneaky glances here and there. ***

Emerson Bowden
The town Mayor/Taxidermist. He’s been in the show somewhat often and since he’s the mayor, I don’t think he’s too suspicious, though the focus has shifted away from him as of late. ***

Frank Kovick
The town’s only news reporter. He’s really been involved in quite a few stories as of late: an affair, he was adopted, and he’s at all of the crime scenes. We’re seeing too much of him lately; I bet he’s next to go. *

G. D. Thibodeaux
A fisherman/ferryman. We had a big story on him in the first few episodes: bloody house, a Prudence shrine, and his arrest. Haven’t seen him much lately, and his arrest seems like a good alibi during last week’s murder. **

Hayden DeBeck
Former businessman with C.R. Flint and Oscar Blodgett. Although he’s creepy and has that legion of sweepers that are all over town, I think his character is too strong and outspoken to be the killer. *

Jimmy Tinker
Abby Flint’s boyfriend/Film Student. There’s no way that Jimmy is the killer. He’s been in the story way too much in a lot of different aspects. His story about the night of the murder is pretty believable, and the fact that he’s a film student and that the killer happens to film all of the murders are too coincidental. *

Mary Elizabeth Merchant
Attorney’s aide/Abby Flint’s best friend. "Ms. Freak show" here isn’t the murderer, either. Sure she came from an abusive family, but her infatuation with being Abby wouldn’t send her down a killer’s path. She just wants Jimmy’s body. *

Prudence Connor
Gulf War Veteran/Auto Shop Owner. Connor did have an affair with Nate Flint, and someone else knew about it. Flint was even trying to hide the pictures when the killer startled him. She seems a bit shady still and doesn’t say much. **

Rusty Crandall
Pastor of the First Church of Sunrise. We don’t know much about ol’ Crandall except that he hangs with Mary Elizabeth sometimes and that Leita called him while she was getting her hair cut and killed. I think he’s our guy. ****

Samantha Larabee
Diner owner. It looks like Larabee had an affair with Kovick, maybe even a family breaking one. She has some sleeping disorder and is the one who "found" the Flint’s house after the murder. Pretty suspicious chick. ***

William Lambert
Businessman and Salesman. This guy has been set up to fall from the beginning. He wants some land of Leita’s to build a hotel, and then some of his torn jacket shows up at Leita’s murder scene. No way this guy is the killer. *

Well, that does it, Kristen. I gave several people three stars and one person four stars: Rusty Crandall. Please, stop jumping at every gimmie and think some, these guys have you for a loop. We’ll see you next week when you have to go out again for the killer’s clue.
